Carol Marks:

Good morning, everyone. Tuesday, February Oh, what time is it? I mean, what day is it? 23rd and you can probably hear me wheezing a little bit. I was going to take you on the Walk with me. But it was too windy outside. On my cooldown walk. Okay, it's been parently It's been two whole weeks since I've exercised. I got off the keto diet for two weeks, apparently, too. I thought it was just a week, but it's been two weeks. And I came out here to row this morning and I did 30 minutes. And while my body felt good and strong, my muscles were like, Oh, hey, yeah, like this, and I felt really strong. My lungs had a different story. I oh my gosh, I guess there really is such a thing as exercising your lungs. Because when I was growing steadily before, I was breathing. Okay, I was breathing great. And then taking two weeks off, I guess getting back on the rower for 30 minutes how my lungs I thought I was going to die. Anyway, less than an hour with them getting back on schedule, getting back on keto. Feel better because I love feeling good on keto. No sugar, low carbs. It was great. Maybe that's why my lungs were like, oh. But it feels good to be back on a schedule and routine. What about you guys, you guys need to schedule and routine. When I was younger, I hated a schedule and routine. I just wanted to be spontaneous and live for the moment, whatever. Now that I'm older, it's like how I need schedule and routine. discipline. All right. Well, that's it for now. It's Tuesday. And it's beautiful weather outside. It's in the mid 50s. Beautiful sun is out. Compared to what a week ago when it was horrible, cold freezing rain. Well, maybe this is the beginning of the warmer weather season. Hope so. Alright, I will let you go and I'll be back in just a minute. Don't go anywhere. Welcome back. Welcome back. This is Carol again. And now it is Wednesday. The 24th. I got up kind of early this morning got up about 730 and my cup of coffee in bed. Then I read my Bible Bibles I should say I am following a year long Bible reading plan from cosmopolitan cornbread calm. And I'm in Exodus and Matthew and very fascinating. I tell you, though, my friend turned me on to Denis preggers the rational Bible Exodus. And it goes verse by verse and he writes about each verse, you know, pretty much explaining what that means is is great. It's great. Great, great. Love it. And then of course, Matthew New Testament reading it to taking notes trying to apply everything. We'll see.

Carol:

I had to take Oh, and then I rowed of course my indoor rower winner to keep pretty good pace this morning. 45 minutes at a pretty good pace and my lungs feel much better. I don't know what happened yesterday with my breathing but I thought I was going to die. I was wheezing and hacking and coughing all over the place. But this morning felt a lot lot better felt back to normal again. Again, I hadn't worked out in two weeks so that may have had something to do with it I in my garage talking because my cool down walk it was too windy to record anything I'm doing is using my iPhone. That's all I do for my podcast iPhone. Straight up upload it do very very little editing. Let's see what else if if editing at all. What was I gonna say to go to say something else but it Oh, I have kind of taking a break from political things. I'm still keeping up to date and I'll still listen to some podcasts but I've also incorporated some new podcasts. I listened to Dr. Death from wondery that was fascinating. It was the first season with Dr. Dench the cert neurosurgeon, y'all that's some scary crap right there.

Carol Marks:

Oh, scary. Scary. Scary. The man was a lunatic. And then uh, now

Carol:

then I listened to business wars. Another podcast from wondery and I listened to this series about Estee Lauder versus L'Oreal. It was a six part miniseries fantastic, because I used to work for Estee Lauder. And I, you know, enjoyed listening to the history of both of the cosmetics companies it was it was cool. And then I bought an audiobook of Jerry Seinfeld's new book called, is this anything, so I'm looking forward to listening to that as well. And I guess that about does it for this segment again, another beautiful day. The sun is out. Now I'm on my back patio. Maybe hear the birds chirping, beautiful day today going to be in the 70s I think fantastic. I love it. Love it. Love it. The only thing is with work. You never know what you're going to get at work with insideclimate because normally they keep it freezing cold in there. They even had the air conditioner on when the temperatures was in the 30s. outside. yesterday. Beautiful outside, I walk in and it's like a frickin sauna in there. So hot. But they eventually eventually cooled it off.

Carol Marks:

Well, I guess I'm gonna go for now. And I shall be back in a few minutes. So don't go anywhere. Stay tuned. And good afternoon. I'm back. Thursday afternoon. It is 240 in the afternoon, and I'm about to go into work. I'm sitting in my car in the parking lot. I arrived early. Thank fully I like to arrive early and just sit in my car and chill out for a minute before I have to go in. Here's what happened today. nothing extraordinary. But it just kind of threw me off my game a little bit off my schedule. But we had scheduled plumber to come to the house today. And the plumber earlier in the week said it would be Thursday afternoon. And so my husband and I discussed it and he said yeah, it's probably going to be after I get home after work. You know after two o'clock bla bla bla, okay. Because normally, in the mornings, I like to take my time getting up go row, read my Bible, take a shower. And you know, I've walked around not dressed, except for my undergarments. Well, I'll let my hair dry. There I said it. But something in Okay, well, I'll have plenty of time still do what I need to do before they get there. Well, he my husband calls me at about quarter to 11 and says, Hey, plumber said they'll be there in about 40 minutes and I'm on my way home. My husband has a 45 minute drive. He said I'm leaving work now. But I should be home before they get there. Just want to let you give you a heads up. I'm thinking Oh, great. So it kind of threw me off my schedule. I had to go jump in the shower real quick, because I knew I wasn't gonna have I knew I wasn't gonna have any water. It's a good thing I did. Because one we didn't have any water after they got there. And two, they took longer than I had anticipated. So I went ahead and got ready. Alright, fine, no big deal. Then, you know, one thing led to another, I didn't think I was going to be able to fix my lunch there at home. So I just ordered something online to pick up later today tonight. Anyway, blah, blah, blah. I just you know, I don't like to be thrown off my routine and schedule.

Carol:

The other thing I want to ask is why is Bill Gates talking about all kinds of stuff? Isn't he a businessman? I mean, didn't he do? Isn't he in charge of Microsoft or something like that? Why is he getting into politics? And why is he saying that? We should all be on 100% synthetic beef? Why is it come? Why is it commenting on vaccines? Why? First of all? Why? 100%? synthetic beef? No, no? Why I don't understand this. Somebody please tell me why he is pumping out that we should eat 100% synthetic that sounds synthetic beef really that? No, that doesn't sound good for you. Especially with all these. I mean, I thought all this chemical stuff was bad for you put in your body. We're having to eating all natural things in organic. I don't get it, I don't get it. I was reading in my Bible today in Exodus and I highlighted a couple of pages a couple of things and talking about remembering an exodus when you know, the Israelites left this you know, being enslaved in the mass mass exodus out of Egypt and all that. But God told them to remember and to tell your generations to generations of generations and you know, centuries to come tell so you won't forget. So you will remember. And then the commentator went on to talk about we have to remember in order to have wisdom and to be grateful And I think that's what's happening today is we're not remembering where we came from, because everybody wants to cancel everybody. And they want to change history and stop selling books on Amazon and change our history and cancel and shut people up. And if we don't remember from where we came from, there is no wisdom. And there's no gratitude. And we start hating each other. All right, I don't know where that came from. But that's another thing I wanted to talk about. I guess. I didn't really mean to go down that trail, but apparently I did. There was something else I wanted to talk about. Oh, yes, I'm listening to some great podcast from wondering who and dry. The first one I listened to was Dr. Death. They have a couple of different mini series on there. One was about Dr. Dutch neurosurgeon. The other one is Dr. Stephen F. I can't remember the last name. But he would tell healthy, perfectly healthy people, they had cancer and then treat them for that. Oh, horrible, horrible, horrible things. But the other thing, the other thing I'm wondering that I'm really enjoying is called business wars. I listened to Estee Lauder versus L'Oreal the other day. And they have like these mini series they have the podcast is called business wars. But then I have like six episodes of Estee Lauder versus L'Oreal. And the current one I'm listening to is Macy's versus gimble. They have other ones on there too, like Netflix versus HBO, and Boeing versus somebody I forget who I don't forget who but I'm really enjoying the I'm enjoying these mini series of business wars there. I love listening to the history, and where these big gigantic, you know, brands got their start and how they started. And it's just fascinating. I love the history of it. The only thing that I don't like, is this current one I'm listening to with Macy's vs gamble. It is a male voice narrating the story. And when it comes upon a woman's voice, the male speaks the woman's part. And he tries to he tries to make his voice higher. And it's just it doesn't sound right. Look, hire a female voice, please hire a woman's voice to do the female talking. Now I don't think there's a lot of female narrative narration in this one, and you know, speaking parts, whatever. But there's enough, just just hire somebody, a woman to do the woman parts, please. And going back to the plumber thing, since our water was off, I couldn't make myself a pot of coffee. Because I normally bring coffee from home to bring into work with me. So I decided, oh, I've got the Starbucks app. And I have lots and lots of gift cards on the app that I can use. And I'll just order it. Pick it up on my way there. Well, when I ordered it, I thought they had a place where you a spot where you could choose the time of pickup. I think I placed this order about 12 o'clock noon, and I wasn't going to be able to pick it up until 215. And I thought there was a place on there that I could schedule the pickup, but apparently there's not. So I placed my order thinking that it would take me to a different a different page where I could schedule it. Well, it didn't it just went ahead and placed the order. So I had to call the store real quick and tell them I had made a mistake. I didn't mean to to order it right then I didn't need it until 215. She said Okay, no problem. We'll just make a note. And you know, just come by at 215. And it'll be it'll be here. Okay, great. So I drive there, get out of my car at 215. I go in, and I'm like, Hey, Carol Marks he Oh, yeah. He went to pick up the cup. And it was empty. And yeah, we got the note right here. And he had to start making it at 250. Like, what is the point of me ordering hair just so I can come in and pick it up when you still have to make it? Maybe they didn't think I would show up? I don't know. But you know, there were people standing in line that were getting their drinks faster than I did. And I was a little upset. Not not horribly upset. I know. I know. firstworldproblems but I got my coffee. I'm good.

Carol Marks:

I shouldn't complain. But I'm going to go into work now. And kind of chill out. Get into the rhythm of my work and listen to my podcasts. And you guys have a good week. I will probably this will probably be the last segment. I think it's long enough. And I will upload it and then it'll hopefully be ready tomorrow.
