Unmasking Government Control and Memorable Journeys

September 16, 2024 Carol Marks

TALK TO ME, TEXT IT

What if the government no longer serves the people but controls them? Join us as we confront the unsettling reality of an attempted assassination on Donald Trump, delving deep into the fears and suspicions that surround the so-called deep state. We dissect Joe Biden's controversial remarks about bolstering Secret Service resources and scrutinize whether political rhetoric from the Democratic Party is fanning the flames of societal violence. This episode lays bare the troubling erosion of trust in our institutions and questions the integrity of our political discourse.

Amidst these heavy discussions, we lighten the mood with personal anecdotes from our recent travels, including a charming dinner at Giovanni's in Memford, Ohio. We laugh about a young family member who stole the show by taking everyone's orders and share how coffee frequently dictates our travel breaks. Plus, we give a shout-out to our favorite media personalities like Greg Gutfeld, Megyn Kelly, Andrew Wilkow, and Glenn Beck, explaining why their voices resonate with us. We wrap up by expressing our gratitude to our ever-growing audience, leaving you with a blend of serious reflection and light-hearted stories.

Speaker 1:

Hello and good morning, happy Monday and travel day.

Speaker 2:

Good morning, one and all to a beautiful day. How are you today?

Speaker 1:

Well, you know, I'm okay, Just kind of in a disbelief state again.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, no kidding. When I heard the news I thought, wow. You know, Of course, the first report I heard was that there was some gunfire and it didn't affect Trump and all this stuff. And for those of you who don't know, who slept through like Rip Van Winkle, apparently somebody wanted to try to kill Trump again and, instead of just voicing it, you know, got guns out and, you know, was getting ready to have a shot at him and you know, at first I thought it was unbelievable. I can't believe it's happening. You know, it's probably something, you know, just crazy, not really part of it. But now, the more and more we dig, the more and more we find yeah, that's what he was trying to do, Wow.

Speaker 1:

It's crazy. I know I keep wanting to say that that's what he was trying to do. Wow, it's crazy. I know I keep wanting to say it's that that's not really what happened. You know, they're getting, they're getting stories wrong. People are getting out ahead of it. You know, I was reading twitter all night not all night, but last night when it was happening and I thought, oh no, that's not really what happened, blah, blah, blah. Well, it is, it's just still unbelievable.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you know it's too early to. It's really not too early to pass a judgment on stuff like this anymore, but it's starting to really get to the point where all these things where we talked about not trusting our government, not trusting what's happening within our government and all not really the conspiracy theories, but this deep state of it not being run by for us but being run. You know us working for the government. As far as you know, you're here for us instead of them being here, you know, for us.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

All of that is just coming to light. You know, we are not in control of our government anymore. Our government has become in control of us, which is why the Democratic Party doesn't want, that's why they want to get rid of the Constitution, because that's the last step in. You know, being in firm control of all the people. You know it's no longer for the people, by the people. It's now.

Speaker 2:

You will do what your government tells you at command. And I say that in the light of one of the comments that Joe Biden supposedly made. I don't even know if he knows it's happened yet or not. But whatever the deep state said, you know we will provide the Secret Service all the resources they need to protect Donald Trump. All that tells me is they're going to provide all the resources that they need to do it, but are they going to do it? They need to do it, but are they going to do it? No, it doesn't say we're going to protect the president with all the resources that the Secret Service and the FBI have at their disposal. It just says we're going to provide them all this. What they do with it, you know, is going to be their business. Our hands are washed because we said we were going to do something with it.

Speaker 1:

All talk, no action.

Speaker 2:

You know it reads into it that way. We're going to do something with it. All talk, no action. You know it reads into it that way. And is that you know? Just me think you know being. You know you know skeptical of it. Well, yeah, I am skeptical of it because you know, this is the second time now in what? However many days, how many weeks, a little over 60 days.

Speaker 2:

That you know this is this has occurred 60 days. That you know this is this has occurred um. And then you know we see all the you know all. Thank goodness for twitter. And now, because now you know montages of all of the violent exploits from the democratic party incitement and incitement of it have come to light, whereas they say the republicans inc violence.

Speaker 2:

They're violent people. You know, blah, blah, blah, nancy. You know they're going to come out of the hills. That's what she thinks of the American people. You know of half the American people that you know we're all just hill people with our guns written to come out of the mountains to take over the government, when, in essence, all we would do, all that would be doing, is battling the government for taking over the people, which is what has happened. Not to say that we're going to do anything like that, because we're not. We're not that, that's not what we do, but to see all of the incitement that the democrats and you see, you know I'm not going to go through all the people, but you see all the tapes of them saying you know, we've got to go to the streets, we'll take it to them. You know, beat them in there. You know. You know when, when they go high, we go low. You know, whatever the hell they're saying, you know. But you see that they're the party that is inciting this.

Speaker 2:

And you know, making people say, in all the rhetoric rhetoric you know he's Hitler. You know, making people say, in all the rhetoric rhetoric. You know he's hitler. You know he's hitler and you see the comedians with the head cut off and you know the cutting him and shooting him on stage and all this stuff. You know what? There's some sick-ass people out there that'll say, yeah, yeah, that's what I'm gonna do. I'll just go take the president out, you know, cause that's what we need to do. I've often thought of blowing up the white house.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

When was the last time an actor assassinated a president? You know, are the are, the are these? Are these Republicans and conservatives? No, they're liberal, leftist Democrats. Anyway, that was a good one, thank you.

Speaker 1:

It's a good rant, very good.

Speaker 2:

Thank you. What about Mary Lou?

Speaker 1:

So Glenn Beck got on Twitter yesterday and went off about the people who are calling Trump or has called Trump, you know, hitler. And then he came out and apologized for his rant an hour or so later and I'm like do not apologize. Somebody in the big media needed to say it, because it's ridiculous how these people keep calling Trump Hitler. I mean, come on, there's nothing even close to that that he has done that resembles Hitler. Nothing, nothing. And it's stupid, it's dangerous and they need to knock it off.

Speaker 2:

I've heard. I haven't talked to people, but I've heard. If we go down this media way people talk about well, you know he's going to be a dictator. Like, did you hear him say he was going to be a dictator? Well, you know, that's what Kamala said. Wait a minute, go listen to what he said. He was asked are you going to be a dictator? He goes well, I might be for a day, but you know, come on, that's a tongue-in-cheek going. Ah, you know, I'm laughing at what she said or what somebody said about that.

Speaker 2:

But they take those words and say, see, he said he's going to be a dictator. So people you know on the left are going because the media has been playing he's going to be a dictator. Or if we look at the go back to other things where he said there were good people on both sides, go back and look at what he said. And he was talking about the issue of tearing down statues, not the issue of the whatever proud boys, whatever the hell they call them, and the people on the left that were, you know, antifa and all this stuff. He wasn't talking about those people at all.

Speaker 2:

But they've coined that to say, see, he supports this, but he doesn't right, but, but, but. But now we go a little bit further and say people, listen to what these little bitty lines that these leftist medias are putting out and saying, you know, he's going to be a dictator, he's going to be that. And they react to it because, to killing, because they see so much of it that it's okay, it's okay to do that, I'll be good. Yeah, you know, I don't know what, I'll be a hero.

Speaker 1:

Everybody will love me because I took him out. I don't know what kind of bug juice they drink doing that. Yeah, you know, I don't know what kind of I'll be a hero. Everybody will love me because I took him out.

Speaker 2:

I don't know what kind of bug juice they drink. Doing that, but to even think that, but they do.

Speaker 1:

Well, apparently this suspect's son. I don't even know the guy's name, this guy that they have in custody. I'm glad they have him alive, though I'm glad they have that MF-er alive.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

But his son has come out and is shocked. He's shocked. My dad's not a violent man and he's like any reasonable person who dislikes Trump. Blah, blah, blah. That's what the article said.

Speaker 2:

That I read Like any other reasonable person, anybody reasonable would act this way. If you're a reasonable person, a reasonable person, go get a gun and try to assassinate trump right that's what reasonable people do. That's a spin, isn't it?

Speaker 1:

yeah, and I read too in the same article that this suspect, back when he was 36 years old, was in a standoff with the police for three hours over something. I forget what it was about, but yeah, he's got a record wow yeah that checks my willy I just uh, I'm sorry, you might want to look at that. Oh well, let's move on. I've always wanted to use that line.

Speaker 2:

If anybody can tell me, this is a good one. If you know where that line came from, put it down in the comments.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, all right. That'll be a good one Is that going to be the question of the day.

Speaker 2:

No, that's not the question of the day. That's just to put it in the comments. Okay, all right, I like it Of course you know, there's no comments section with this.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that's true, there's not but people. That's a good way to get people to engage, Exactly. And share the content.

Speaker 2:

Sometimes I have good ideas.

Speaker 1:

Yes, and Mr Sean's and Giblet's always. They've always shared our stuff. So, thank you.

Speaker 2:

Share away guys.

Speaker 1:

Thank you, and the dude now has started sharing it. I don't know if you saw that on Twitter last night.

Speaker 2:

No, I didn't.

Speaker 1:

He tweeted some things from our podcast with the question of the day and all that. He said you're my guilty pleasure on Sundays. There we go and he says and the gent is fantastic.

Speaker 2:

Well, you know, it goes back to the old saying how do you put an elephant in the trunk of a car?

Speaker 1:

Oh, I never heard that one. I've heard how you eat an elephant.

Speaker 2:

Well, exactly, but there was an old sitcom, British sitcom it's how do you put an elephant in a mini, and it was a little bit. You chop him in half, chop him in half, chop him half again, and you put some in the boot, some in the bin. What's left you put on the back seat.

Speaker 1:

Oh gosh, all this violence this morning, my goodness.

Speaker 2:

But the same goes for this how do you take over the podcast world? One listener at a time, there you go. Oh my God, we're up to three. We're getting there, we're getting there.

Speaker 1:

Well, today's travel day. How many times do you think we'll stop on the way home?

Speaker 2:

Eight.

Speaker 1:

Eight, four, four Probably, I'm going to say four.

Speaker 2:

I'm going to say three this time.

Speaker 1:

No Four, probably, I'm going to say four.

Speaker 2:

I'm going to say three this time. No, it'll be four. I don't know. We may have to press it this time. It just depends on this old man's bladder. You know.

Speaker 1:

Hopefully we won't hit a lot of traffic and it'll be fine going through Nashville and all that. Yeah, it's a Monday, though I forgot Not Sunday. I keep thinking it's Sunday.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

What time do you think we'll hit Nashville?

Speaker 2:

Lunch time.

Speaker 1:

Oh okay, Maybe it won't be bad.

Speaker 2:

We won't be in a morning or afternoon rush hour or anything like that, because we're leaving, we'll leave, for Of course you know we're leaving an hour early, so to speak.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Because we're leaving from eastern time.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, okay, so it shouldn't be too bad, we'll have plenty of coffee, and which means we'll stop five times well, no, you know, because drinking, like I said, drinking coffee is not the big deal.

Speaker 2:

It's once the water, once, once. For me especially, I can drink coffee a lot and not worry about having to go to the bathroom. But once I drink a lot of coffee and then drink two sips of water, there it goes. Just open up Hoover Dam, there we go. That's way too much information, but it's been a good stay, we had a good time.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, good time Get ready to get back home, get back on a regular schedule and routine.

Speaker 2:

Had a great pizza last night.

Speaker 1:

Absolutely from Giovanni's.

Speaker 2:

Giovanni's of Memford Ohio.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

That's a rockin' place, baby.

Speaker 1:

It was a rockin' place.

Speaker 2:

Got to see our. Well, not my, but would have been your grandniece.

Speaker 1:

Yes, no, what yes?

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Oh wow, yes, my grandniece.

Speaker 2:

Grandniece and she was cute as a bug in a rug.

Speaker 1:

Taking everybody's orders.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, she was running around the restaurant taking people's orders.

Speaker 1:

She's six.

Speaker 2:

Now you have to understand that one of Carol's nieces works at the restaurant and she already had her back there making a pizza and doing all that. So apparently two guys came in that your sister knew and talked to and you know, after she was kind of taking our orders at the table, somebody prompted her to go over to that table and went over and can I take y'all's order, wrote it down and put it, and put it got a tip.

Speaker 1:

And got a tip. Oh, I hope we don't get anybody in trouble with child labor laws.

Speaker 2:

She wasn't working. I know she was just playing the role. Yes, of course you know now.

Speaker 1:

Benefits of a small town.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, now she'll probably get a thing from the government. You know you must submit a 1099 for that Right 1099, miss Laney's income for that $2. Yeah, I wouldn't doubt it, they'll probably come hunting us now, not us come hunting them now for that Crazy crazy, crazy.

Speaker 1:

We need to come up with a question of the day. All right, all right. I have a question of the day. We need to come up with a question of the day. All right, all right, I have a question of the day. Who is your favorite favorite? I'm trying to think of the right word oh, my gosh. Favorite, not famous favorite media personality. Who is your favorite news anchor?

Speaker 2:

Current or past. Current, current. I got to go with. Well, it was Brett Baer just doing the news because, but you know he's kind of rounded his edges a little bit and gone a little. You know, he was kind of leaning over there towards that left side a little bit the other day and I was like, uh, so I guess I could go with Greg Gutfeld right now. He's not news, but he's my favorite to listen to right now.

Speaker 1:

I like Megan Kelly.

Speaker 2:

Megan Kelly or, of course, if we go off that way, I like Andrew Wilkow. He's probably the one I would listen to first.

Speaker 1:

I like Glenn Beck too, but I think Megyn Kelly, because and I like Megyn Kelly too she's very fair.

Speaker 2:

She gets on it too. Yeah, you know, if you remember Megyn Kelly from way back when you don't know Megyn Kelly, you got to start listening to her and start, you know, the other day she says we're not going to take that and she let out a couple of four-letter expletives and I was like he go girl. But yeah, I'd have to definitely go off tangent and say will cow or somebody like yeah all right.

Speaker 1:

Well, there you go question of the day. Thank y'all for listening. You guys have a great day. Go dogs.
