TALK TO ME, TEXT IT

Is early voting essential for democracy, or does it risk opening Pandora's box of electoral issues? We explore this contentious topic by stepping into the shoes of voters in Alabama, a state where early voting is not an option. Our conversation traverses the landscape of state versus federal powers and election integrity, making way for a lively debate on whether the traditional Election Day still holds its ground. Switching gears, we unravel the bizarre yet compelling saga of Peanut the squirrel, whose unexpected fame on an OnlyFans account run by Mark and Daniella Longo raises ethical eyebrows. This story pushes us to question the boundaries of financial success and moral responsibility in the digital age, especially when Peanut's life takes a tragic turn due to rabies concerns.

In another intriguing twist, we tackle Tom Brady's public critique of NFL referees, a move that puts him in the hot seat due to his dual role as Raiders minority owner and Fox NFL analyst. We weigh in on the complexities of balancing professional responsibilities with personal opinions, especially in the high-stakes world of sports commentary. Lastly, brace yourself for an enthralling tale of giant spiders flourishing in the UK. Thanks to conservation efforts, these arachnids have reached record numbers, sparking conversations about conservation and humanity's role in shaping the future of wildlife.

Speaker 1:

One more day. One more day and then we vote here in Alabama. I guess is Alabama the only state that does not have early voting. That is so weird. I'm kind of glad we don't. I wish other states would not have early voting. What is? If somebody knows, please school me about why we have early voting and do you think that it is necessary. Do you like the early voting? I don't know. I think there's just a lot of room for cheating. And do they count them immediately and then lock them up, or do they wait till the day of? Maybe different states, different counties do it different ways. If they're going to do it that way, don't you think it should be a national thing instead of? I don't know, maybe not, because the government already has overreach as it is and we're always talking about giving the power back to the state. So I don't know what are your thoughts about early voting. That's not the question of the day, but here's the thing about election day tomorrow. But here's the thing about election day tomorrow Eve, when we do find out who the winner is, when we find out the outcome, when we solidly find out the outcome, whether it's Kamala or Trump.

Speaker 1:

Good Lord willing, if he allows us to continue to take breath and be upright. The world is going to continue to go on. Now, I don't think anything is going to drastically change overnight. I really don't. I'm hopeful that my life, your life, will probably not be affected right away. I'm not sure you know, who knows? Who knows what's really going to happen. I think it'll be okay, it'll be all right, everything's going to be fine, maybe All right.

Speaker 1:

We need to go on to look at some stories. I'm sure you guys have heard about the squirrel that was euthanized Peanut the squirrel, who was a beloved pet of Mark and his wife, mark Longo and his wife. Well, well, well, there's an update and this. Does this surprise you? It does me, it just I don't know if it surprises me. It just disappoints me because there's an update. We go. Apparently, mark and his wife had a an only fans page. I guess everybody like, like a podcast, everybody has an only fans account. Now, not me, I do not have one. All right, who ratted out peanut the squirrel? Grieving owners have their theory and it's a rich one. Peanut the squirrel was ratted out by someone and his upstate owners think it was over jealousy. Mark and daniello.

Speaker 1:

Daniella longo told the post on sunday that they had been cashing in on their furry internet sensation, who helped steer their followers to their raunchy OnlyFans page before he was seized from their animal sanctuary and euthanized by state environmental officials over rabies fears last week. I love how they just skim right on over that like it's normal everyday occurrence that people have an only only fans page, which I guess they do. I mean, it's like porn, it's just oh, it's normal now. It's just normal. The couple's financial success, fueled at least partly by peanut, may have been enough to drive someone to drop the dime on them and their fluffy tailed cash cow. They said maybe it's someone who thinks I use this place to make a lot of money. Mark said of his rescue farm did this do wonders to my only fans? Mark said of the site where peanut frolicked along with other animals. Absolutely, it's making a lot of money from this. Wow.

Speaker 1:

The longos said they thought their 350 acre acre spread near elmira with 800 000 that they made in one month posting their porn online and peanut then began pulling his own weight with his separate, family, friendly, friendly fan base. Well, there you go. The longos said they bought their 350 acre spread near elmira with eight hundred thousand dollars that they made in one month posting their porn online. There you have it. I guess it's. Since it's all in the name of saving animals, it's okay. Well, I mean, really, what are your thoughts on this? I put that out on my x file. If you want to go read the rest of it, it pretty much after.

Speaker 1:

After you get over that part, it's pretty much just a recap of what happened, uh, to them with the squirrel. That is some crazy stuff they had. Now they have a gofundme for Peanut and it has raised $132,000. What happened to your OnlyFans page? Do you not have that anymore? That's crazy.

Speaker 1:

I'm just very disappointed, very, very disappointed. I feel like I got hoodwinked. I feel bad that they came and got the animals and euthanized them for no reason. That was not good. But I mean these people. But you know, I just noticed how they just skimmed over it like it was no big deal. I guess porn has become normalized in America.

Speaker 1:

All right, I really don't. Let's see. Let's see. What else do we have going on?

Speaker 1:

It looks like Tom Brady might be in trouble again. You know how he, but it's not about the word spaz this time. Let me go find the story. I had it up here a minute ago. I apologize. Okay, tom Brady risks facing NFL backlash after Brian Branch ejection criticism, so let's break this down. I'll just read the story, because I'm not. I don't understand how some of this works with it. When it comes to sports, it's like math for me. As soon as you say math or the word sports, my brain just shuts down. It won't accept any information. So here we go, I'm going to read it.

Speaker 1:

Tom Brady may have put himself in a tough position on Sunday after he made critical comments about a call in the Lion Packers game due to Brady's status as a minority owner of the Raiders as well as an analyst on Fox for NFL broadcasts. The quarterback great has certain rules that he has to abide by in the booth. This is above and beyond regular. You know airway frequency rules. I guess this has to do with him being a minority owner of the Raiders, which I did not know One of. Of course, I don't follow sports, so no wonder One of which is that Brady can't criticize the refs during a broadcast, and the seven-time Super Bowl champion may have crossed that line while on air on Sunday. If he is an analyst and he's doing commentary color whatever you call it on a football game and there's refs in the football game. They're part of the game. How come he's not allowed to criticize the refs? That is some BS right there. And it doesn't say is it because he's not allowed to criticize the refs? That is some BS right there. And it doesn't say is it because he's the owner of it? That makes no sense to me.

Speaker 1:

Lions defensive back, brian Branch, was controversially ejected from the game after a hit on Packers wide receiver Bo Melton. The decision came from the review center in New York and not from the officiating crew on the ground in Green Bay, which led Brady to agree with the penalty, called on Branch but questioned the decision to kick him from the game. I did not watch any of this, so maybe you guys know what this is talking about. Mr Shons, I think definitely follows NFL. I don't love that call at all, brady said during the broadcast. Obviously it's a penalty, but to me there has to be serious intent in a game like this.

Speaker 1:

Bradley quickly returned to analyzing the game and, with the ejection of Branch, meant to for the Lions. He does so much for these guys and they're going to have to adjust the rest of the game. He does so much for these guys and they're going to have to adjust the rest of the game, losing their best defensive player, who I know they were expecting to have a huge day today. Not an easy guy to replace and Green Bay has great field position now without having to do too much, brady said. Brady has had to walk a fine line in his role this season while finally completing the process for his ownership stake in the Raiders. What does this have to do? What does this have to do with him commenting? And what he said does not sound controversial. I don't see him criticizing the refs at all, do you? It remains unclear if Brady would be facing any issues from his comments about the call, but it will be the first real test of the restrictions on him in the booth.

Speaker 1:

This is asinine. This is so dumb, so dumb. We can't. I am so sick and tired of people getting their little butt hurt and feelings hurt and trying to tell other people what they can and cannot say. All this censorship, and people are starting to self-censor too. I'm guilty of that. I'm definitely guilty of that because I don't want to, you know, upset anybody and whatever. I'm just, I'm over it. I'm over it, all right. What else do we have going on? Let's see Y'all. I apologize for my vocal fry this morning. I don't know what is going on today with my voice. All right, we are going to leave it with this story about spiders and then I'm going to get to the question of the day and then we're going to end the episode.

Speaker 1:

Giant spiders the size of human hands are breeding faster than ever. Oh my gosh. Thankfully this is not in America. Giant spiders the size of a human hand have had a record breeding year in the UK following conservation efforts. These people in their conservation efforts. A decade ago, chester Zoo released thousands of fin f-e-n raft spiders after the species was found to be in terminal decline. You you know what? Maybe there's a reason for that. Why don't you just let nature do its thing? I swear man always has to get involved, right? The zoo has now revealed there are more than 10,000 breeding females across the country, an all-time high for the arachnid in the uk. Chester zoo said 10 years ago we helped release thousands of giant spiders back into the uk. Yay, oh boy. The fin raft spiders were bred right here at the zoo and we're super happy to report. There are now more than 10 000 breeding females and they're just had the biggest mating season on record. Oh, aren't they just so proud. Oh my gosh, all right, finn raft spiders actively hunt their prey instead of building webs to catch their next meal. Oh, their legs are covered in tiny hairs that detect the slightest of vibrations on the water's surface, which they can run across to capture their prey.

Speaker 1:

Whoa, give me the eebie-jeebies. Normally, I'm not. I'm normally spiders don't bother me. I'm like okay, whatever, I'll smash them. I don't get all fidgety over a spider, now a cockroach, or a mouse or a snake? Well, of course, snake and a mouse are not insects but a cockroach or any other bug, I'm like nope, but a spider. I'm like, okay, whatever, it doesn't. Now, if I saw one the size of a hand, that's a different story.

Speaker 1:

All right, we're going to go on to the question of the day. All right, if you had a soundtrack of your life, what songs would be on it? Now, you don't have to tell me every single song, but give me just a couple of songs that would be on your soundtrack for your life. Mine would definitely have some ACDC on there, for sure. All right. I don't know what else. I don't know what else would be on there. I'd have to think about that, but I look forward to hearing your answers. All right, thank you for listening. Thank you for sharing my content and commenting and quoting me. Y'all make my day when y'all do that. Thank you so much. Have a good one, and I will be back again tomorrow, god willing.
