Carol Marks

TALK TO ME, TEXT IT

What if society's moral compass has gone astray? Today, we explore this unnerving notion as we discuss the shocking news surrounding the tragic killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. The unsettling praise for the suspected gunman forces us to question our values and the dark glorification of violence. Amidst this chaos, I reflect on personal spiritual journeys, drawing inspiration from biblical teachings and the wisdom of Father Mike. It’s a bittersweet moment, a mix of heartfelt farewells and societal reflections as I navigate my final solo episode.

Join me as I read a touching fan letter from Giblets, sparking memories of shared laughter and joy over the months. While I bid farewell to my solo sessions, the journey continues with upcoming weekend episodes featuring the gent. Plus, stay tuned for my quick quips on X, where I'll keep the conversation alive. In the midst of these transitions, we confront the unsettling story of Thompson's murder, examining the societal reaction and the need for a stronger moral compass. Let's embark on this journey together, seeking understanding and change in our world.

Speaker 1:

Well, hello and good morning, Happy Friday. This is the last solo episode that you'll get with me here on the podcast and I would like to start with a fan mail letter from Giblets. So let's go over here. What did he send us? He sent us an actual letter. This is just because my fan mail in quotes a call back to a recent Gent episode got lost by the very efficient USPS.

Speaker 1:

Today will be the bittersweet day. Carol and the Gent have been a part of my daily listening routine for several months. The two of them have provided me many laughs and smiles. I will miss the show, this show, and wish you both the best in the next chapter of podcasting. Anyway, see what I did there, giblets. Thank you, giblets. That is so sweet and tender. Oh my gosh, I love it. Thank you. Yes, I'm going. You know I'm going to miss it too. I really am going to miss it, but I do have the other podcast coming out and we still have two more episodes on Saturday and Sunday on this one with the gent and myself. You know we do the podcast together on the weekend, so we've got that going for us, which is nice. I am going to start doing my quick quips here. I am going to start doing my quick quips here on X, though I will be putting out a direct audio, hopefully every day we shall see how long that lasts and I'll pin it to the top of my X account so it's easily accessible, because I do tweet quite a bit. All right, we need to move on to and I have a great question of the day, by the way, so be prepared for that from Mr Sean's.

Speaker 1:

All right, we need to talk about this dude. Well, maybe it's a dude that killed the CEO in New York City. My goodness, I know you've heard all about it, but there's new things coming out now about the killer. This guy, wow. They have photos of him stopping in. I don't know if it's at a hostel. Wherever he was checking out, he was at some counter inside this building and he took his mask down because he was apparently flirting with the receptionist and she wanted to see his face. So, yeah, there's that.

Speaker 1:

And then they have this other story here for the New York Post about UnitedHealthcare's CEO. Suspected gunman. Looks like Timothy Chalamet and Jake Gyllenhaal says the internet. There's that story I have out there if you want to go read that. But, yeah, this guy. Wow, unitedhealthcare, okay. Ceo Brian Thompson, suspected killer, arrived in New York City last month on a bus that left from Atlanta Sources. How do they know all of this? I guess that's good sleuthing, right? So you have to wonder do they know who this guy is? They have to. They're just not saying what his name is. They have to. They're just not saying what his name is. The suspected killer who gunned down UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, came to New York City on an interstate Greyhound bus last month. Police sources told the Post.

Speaker 1:

Let me first of all say something about these people in our world who are praising this gunman for killing a health care CEO. Now, look, I know our health care is corrupt, but you don't go out and kill people for it and then praise this person for doing it. What is wrong with us? I liken it to the same thing when we have a case at the Supreme Court. Liken it to the same thing when we have a case at the Supreme Court where we are arguing that we can mutilate children to change their sex organs. Children, we have a case at the Supreme Court. That's what they're discussing In the words of JD Vance. Do you hear yourself right now? Oh, my God, y'all, I don't even know. All right, let's continue with the story. We need to get into some serious prayer and change our ways. That's what I'm saying people. Yeah, I'm listening to the Bible. In a year and right now, father Mike is on the Kings chapter and the Kings book or whatever, and, oh gosh, the prophet Hosea, is that right, hosea? Yeah, but they're talking about repenting, and if you don't repent, eventually, if you don't ever repent, you're eventually going to get what you want. You're going to eventually have what you are seeking and when you turn your back on God, and you're going to have that for eternity. So all I'm saying get back into prayer. All right, we need to go on with the story. Sorry, I got off on a little tangent there. All right, back to the story the suspect.

Speaker 1:

The suspect arrived at the Port Authority bus terminal in Manhattan back in November 24th, november 24th, manhattan, back in november 24th, november 24th, after it set off from atlanta, georgia. According to the sources. It wasn't immediately clear, though, where the cold-blooded gunman jumped on the bus, and some of these pictures they show of him he is smiling, and is this like hours before he does the shooting? Oh my gosh, after setting foot in the big apple. He checked into the hi new york City Hostel on the Upper West Side before going to stake out the Hilton Hotel in Midtown. So he knew where this guy was. That is very telling, right. How did he know that? I mean, I'm a regular person. I wouldn't know that. I'd have to do some serious research on that. I just wow. How do you know his itinerary? How did you know he was going to be there? That is some crazy stuff that you think that's an inside job. Oh, he appeared to have checked out of the youth hostel for one night before returning in an uber a day later, on november 30th, to rebook room with a take with a fake, with a fake new jersey id, sorry, sorry.

Speaker 1:

Meanwhile, cops released chilling surveillance images earlier thursday that showed the killer's unmasked face for the first time as he flashed a smile in the lobby of the same hostel. You can go finish reading that. That has some very detailed things in here. The New York Post is investigating a possible message which appears to include the words deny, depose, defend, engraved on live rounds and shell casings left behind. Oh, this is some wild stuff. I mean, this is like stuff from a movie or something. Wow, it's just All right. Moving on, we're going to hear more about that. Do you think they'll catch the guy? Do you think they will? I hope they do. I think they will. They have to. Oh, that's crazy. All right, moving on, I tagged Keith in this next one.

Speaker 1:

Jimmy Carter's grandson reveals 100 year old ex-president secret to longevity. Do want to know what it is? Let's go find out from the new york post. I and I only tagged keith in this because they're always talking about it on the show keith malinak on pat and lee's show, about his grandson always being there, about talent, talking about his jimmy carter. And I gotta say something here real quick people that are posting pictures of jimmy carter in the state that he is in shame on you. I hate it when people, especially people that have older people in the hospital, that are going under care and they can't do anything for themselves. I'm going to tell my kids please do not take pictures of me and put it on the internet when I'm in that state. Please do not do that. I don't like that. It's not dignifying at all.

Speaker 1:

Former President, jimmy Carter's stubbornness Okay, that's it and his faith in God are keeping him alive at 100 years old. Ooh, that means I'm going to live a long time, hopefully, because I'm very stubborn, I think, and hopefully my faith in God is getting better. All right, we're going to finish it up with this next story, y'all. It's kind of okay. Here we go. I'm just gonna read the headline and then I'll read it more into the story.

Speaker 1:

I'm paid to be a stand-in girlfriend at family Christmas dinner. I'll even wash dishes for a price. So this chick, oh my gosh, she's an OnlyFans person. Of course she's at the top of every bachelor's wish list. Single men are frequently forced to stave off questions about their love lives when they head home for the holidays, but inventive only fan star is coming to their rescue. Her name is just just wait, jessenia rebecca, 29 years old, is willing to pose as a smitten girlfriend to men who pay the right price. You do you think that men will pay to do this? Do you think I can see it happening?

Speaker 1:

The Miami-based bombshell has unveiled her Christmas girlfriend packages on social media, with some services costing up to $150 per hour, not day per hour. Some of these family dinners can go on for hours and hours. So you better be a rich boy. I'm providing a great service for the holidays for the single guys. Jessenia I can't. She's got a weird name.

Speaker 1:

Jessenia wrote above photo featuring three different packages to offer. She's quite a hefty little girl. There. Single men opt for a silver package. Must be prepared to pay Jessenia $250 plus give her a gift. Uh okay, wow. Paid jessenia 250 plus give her a gift. Uh okay, wow.

Speaker 1:

In exchange, the curvaceous content creator will call in at the fellas family home for two hours. Call in, what do you mean? Call in to eat dinner, what let me read that again. In exchange, the curvaceous content creator will call in at the fellas' family home for two hours to eat dinner and tell a few jokes. What do you mean? She calls in? Does she not actually go? Okay, that's, I'm paying you $250. You're going to be there in person, lady.

Speaker 1:

All right, those who fork out $450 for a gold package will be able to have Yesenia stay for three hours of a festive celebration. While there, she'll concoct a cute story about how she met the paying man. So his family is none the wiser that she's only on hire Like these. Like your family's not going to know that, come on. Meanwhile, men can pay $600 for a platinum package. Let's see what that includes, which will see the stunner pose as a loving girlfriend for six hours. Okay, you only get her, so that means you just get her for longer.

Speaker 1:

I bet Jeffy covers this today on the Pat Graham. I bet he does. Come on, he has to. All right, the former stripper will even say I love you to the paying client in front of his family and plant a kiss on his cheek. Lady, you better be careful, this is some crazy man. I just thought of this. What if they pay her and then she shows up and it's something completely different? Ooh, uh, no, thank you, she's brave. I don't think I would do. I don't know if she's brave, but she's crazy and nuts you, somebody, guy Pagian, you show up and then it's, then it's a kidnapping situation, hello, oh.

Speaker 1:

However, the Bucks and Brunette was quickly hit with backlash from ex-users who described the stunt as pathetic. This is a recipe for disaster, one detractor declared. However, other excited men admitted they'd be lining up and emptying their pockets for the chance to get close to Yesenia. Not me checking my bank account right now. Okay, that's an amazing deal. However, another oh, no, all right.

Speaker 1:

Well, what do you think about that story? Mr Shons will say it's made up, it's not real. Oh, it probably is not real. All right, question of the day. Mr Shons has a great one and he wants to know if it's a wonderful life was remade today, who would you want to star as um george and mary bailey?

Speaker 1:

So the gent and I thought about this last night, and we were terrible at trying to picking out actors. We had to look up some of them and we came up with hugh jackman and sandra bull. That's who we discussed last night. However, I thought about it a little bit more today and I think I would like Meg Ryan to play Mary. Of course, this is all pre-facial surgery, but you know she's already done facial surgery, so we'll have to go with that. I think Meg Ryan would be a good Mary. Um, there was somebody else I was thinking about too. I can't remember now, but and of course Tom Hanks comes to mind, but apparently no one likes Tom Hanks anymore, so maybe Jude Law.

Speaker 1:

I'm trying to write, I'm trying to reconnect Meg Ryan with some of her people that she starred with, and I think she starred with Hugh Jackman in a movie, I forget what it's called, something in Theodore or something like that, I don't know. So, yeah, I like Jude Law. Of course, these are all British actors. I need an American actor. I like Jude Law, though, though. So, Gosh, there was another one I was thinking about this morning too, but it has slipped my mind, so I'm going to, I guess, stay with Hugh Jackman, and Sandra Bullock is what the gent said. I know, if I think about it, I could come up with some other actors and actresses too, but that's your question of the day.

Speaker 1:

If they were to remake it's a Wonderful Life today which I think they should, because they have remade what A Miracle on 34th Street like three times already, why haven't they remade it's a Wonderful Life? I think they should do that. If they do it exactly as it is, not try to put any of this wokeness crap in it. Remake it exactly as the story is already told, and then I think it'll be a success. All right, I have to go. Thanks for listening. Thanks for listening. The Gent and I will be back tomorrow for our episode together. On the weekends, we have Saturday and Sunday, and then that's it. Oh, this is weird. All right, I gotta go. Thanks for listening. Have a great day.
